[[RESEARCH ENRICHMENT START]]
Zone 6B: Start indoors 3-4 weeks before warm-weather transplanting or direct sow after the soil reaches at least 70ยฐF. Plant by mid-June to allow sufficient time for mature pumpkins before October frost.
Germination: Warm soil is essential. Avoid root disturbance when transplanting.
Harvest: Baby Boo produces miniature 2-3 inch white pumpkins. Harvest before full maturity for the whitest skin; fully mature fruits can develop a pale yellow tint.
Seed Saving: Baby Boo is Cucurbita pepo and can cross with zucchini, summer squash and other C. pepo pumpkins and gourds. Hand-pollinate and isolate blossoms for true-to-type seed.
Special Care: Miniature fruit does not mean a miniature vine; allow substantial vine space or train carefully on a sturdy support.
