Notes
Original Planting Method: Direct sow after soil warms
Outdoor / Direct Sow / Transplant Window: May 15 – Jul 25
Germination Time: About 5–10 days
Days to Harvest / Bloom: About 50–55 days; naturally staggered by variety
Container Friendly: Yes, 3–5+ gal
Pollinator Friendly: Somewhat; mostly self-pollinating
Medicinal / Herbal Use: Culinary snap beans
Perennial?: No; annual
Succession / Reusable Notes: Sow every 2–3 weeks. Provider generally matures first, followed by Rocdor and Royal Burgundy.
Zone 6B Notes: A useful mix for continuous color and harvest in a Zone 6B summer.
Companion Plants: Cucumbers, carrots, corn, squash, radishes, marigolds, nasturtiums
Avoid Planting Near / Watch Outs: Mix contains Provider (green), Rocdor (yellow) and Royal Burgundy (purple). Do not sow in cold/soggy soil; watch bean beetles and fungal disease.

[[RESEARCH ENRICHMENT START]]
Zone 6B: Direct sow after the May 5 frost date once daytime soil temperatures average at least 60°F. Additional sowings can extend harvest through summer.
Germination: Avoid sowing into cold soil below about 60°F because germination and stand establishment become unreliable.
Harvest: Johnny's Trilogy currently combines green Provider, yellow Rocdor and purple Royal Burgundy bush beans. Provider matures first, followed by Rocdor and then Royal Burgundy, extending the harvest period.
Seed Saving: The mix components are separate cultivars and Johnny's notes that varieties in the commercial mixture are subject to change. Saved seed will not reliably recreate the original commercial proportions.
Special Care: Johnny's lists Trilogy as an exclusive organic bush-bean mixture suited to limited garden space and containers.
