Outdoor / Direct Sow / Transplant Window: Mar 20 โ€“ May 15; Aug 15 โ€“ Sep 10
Days to Harvest / Bloom: About 24โ€“30 days
Container Friendly: Yes, 6โ€“8+ in deep
Pollinator Friendly: Low when harvested; flowers attract insects if allowed to bolt
Medicinal / Herbal Use: Culinary; roots and greens are edible
Perennial?: No; annual/biennial crop grown as an annual
Succession / Reusable Notes: Sow every 7โ€“14 days during cool weather for a continuous harvest.
Zone 6B Notes: Best in early spring and fall; skip the hottest part of summer.
Companion Plants: Lettuce, carrots, peas, spinach
Avoid Planting Near / Watch Outs: Heat can make roots pithy, woody or very spicy and can trigger bolting. Keep soil evenly moist and harvest promptly.

[[RESEARCH ENRICHMENT START]]
Zone 6B: Grow in early spring and again in late summer or early fall. Avoid midsummer heat for best root quality.
Germination: Direct sow and keep consistently moist. Thin promptly after seedlings emerge.
Harvest: Harvest at approximately 1 inch in diameter and before roots exceed about 1.5 inches, when they can become pithier and hotter.
Seed Saving: Cherry Belle is open-pollinated and crosses with other radish varieties. Allow seed pods to become completely brown and dry before collecting.
Special Care: Cherry Belle is a classic round, cherry-red radish and a 1949 All-America Selections winner.
