[[RESEARCH ENRICHMENT START]]
Zone 6B: Not winter-hardy outdoors in Zone 6B. Grow in a large movable container and overwinter indoors before freezing temperatures.
Germination: Seed-grown dragonfruit is genetically variable and may take years to fruit; purple fruit color cannot be guaranteed from an unspecified seed lot.
Harvest: Seed-grown plants may take several years to fruit. Harvest when fruit develops mature cultivar color and begins to soften slightly.
Seed Saving: Seedlings are genetically variable and generally will not reproduce a named clone true to type.
Special Care: Requires a strong trellis/support. Exact purple cultivar/species was not supplied, so cultivar-specific pollination compatibility, seed germination time and fruiting age are unknown.
