[[RESEARCH ENRICHMENT START]]
Zone 6B: Snapdragons are cool-season flowers and can be transplanted before the final frost after hardening. They often slow or stop flowering during hot summer weather and may resume as temperatures cool.
Germination: Surface sow 8-10 weeks before planting out. Light is required for germination. Bottom-water or mist gently so seed is not buried.
Harvest: For cut flowers, harvest when florets on the lower one-third to one-half of the spike are open.
Seed Saving: Allow flower spikes to mature until seed capsules dry. Because the cultivar is unknown, saved plants may vary substantially.
Special Care: The variety is unknown, so mature height, stem length and whether staking would be useful cannot be determined reliably. Pinching is optional and encourages branching but delays flowering.
