[[RESEARCH ENRICHMENT START]]
Zone 6B: Direct sow after frost once soil exceeds about 60ยฐF. Sow additional rows about every 3 weeks, with the final sowing early enough to mature before October 15.
Germination: Avoid planting into cold, saturated soil because bean seed is prone to rot.
Harvest: Pick approximately 6-inch stringless pods while tender and before seeds swell noticeably. Frequent harvesting extends production.
Seed Saving: Allow pods to fully mature and dry on plants. Phaseolus vulgaris is primarily self-pollinating, although some crossing can occur.
Special Care: Tendergreen Improved is a compact bush bean and does not require a trellis.
